The owners of this new house in the pine woodlands near Bastrop brought a plan from a builder’s plan book to use as a starting point but asked for significant modifications, especially to the exterior. The resulting bungalow, with its traditional gable roof form, features a porch extending the length of the front of the house as well as a back porch opening off the dining room and kitchen. An eyebrow dormer on the front brings natural light into the porch and entry area.
